Liza

Liza Kyriakidou was born in Cyprus and discovered her passion for dance at an early age. She studied in London at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), where she graduated with the Licentiate and Teaching Diploma (LRAD). During her studies, she was awarded two academic prizes in Anatomy and Dance History.

Her professional career includes teaching and collaborations in London (practical teaching at the RAD headquarters), in the United States (University of Reno, Nevada and private schools), and in Cyprus, where she taught ballet in private schools, as well as “dance therapy – movement therapy” before founding her own ballet school.

In 2002, she founded Ballet Arts in Greece, a school that follows two of the most internationally recognised dance education systems, RAD and ISTD. From 2015 to 2019, she served as the RAD CPD Ambassador for Greece, and from 2019 to 2022 she was Vice President of the RAD Greek Committee. She is also a member of SISXE (the Association of Dance School Owners in Greece) and remains active in her professional development, attending over 20 hours of training annually. She is certified in Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) and has completed First Aid Training with the Hellenic Red Cross.

Alongside her teaching, she plays an important role in the development of new ballet teachers. She was a mentor and practical teaching supervisor for the international CBTS programme of the RAD. Since 2025, she has also been working as a Tutor for the RAD in the Certificate in Dance Teaching (CDT) programme, specifically in module CDT 424 – Dance Teaching in Practice.

In the same year, she completed the three-year distance learning programme Master’s in Dance Education with the RAD, validated by the University of Bath. Her postgraduate studies confirm her dedication to continuous learning and her commitment to advancing dance education.

Beyond dance, Liza is an accredited life coach with the Universal Coaching Association UK, specialising in working with artists and dance teachers of all disciplines to build self-confidence and overcome challenges in achieving their goals. With her dual role as teacher and coach, she founded Teachers of Dance – Coaching and Mentoring, an initiative that supports dance teachers in their professional and personal development.

Liza lives in Glyfada and is the proud mother of three daughters: Manuella, Marilyn, and Emmelia.
